The wind of change

Finally finally finally, after a weekend filled with complications I arrived today by finishing totally both of my chairs, painting Radhikas seat and with some help making the round podiums for the exhibition. I´m satisfied at the moment. Jihhha!

THE MARATHON, THE KICK....

Guys, being featured in SALONE means you all have conquered a marathon. SALONE has to feature me as yet..lollzz..but neither I am outraged nor disappointed, infact, you guys have helped me discover the new KICK....A KICK that you get discovering highly energetic and talented and tactful breed of new designers, A KICK that you get while acting backbone to this breed....A KICK that is complete adrenalin in itself !!

It's raining

its raining!
i love rain or atleast i thought so a week before.a week of great work with alot of fun.the salone del mobile idea dawned upon me a few days ago and i was really excited.it is an opportunity for all and a chance for a few.so i decided...well yes! i am going to do this. the concept was free parking.and i liked it.so i began working.in design i learn that you can hardly be sure of the end result and i am enjoying the drive!however it continues to rain!
wondering how the chair shall be transported to the lab!

Sandpaper

Today we nearly finished the first pair of chairs after working from 10.00-23.30. To sandpaper the chairs takes a long time. Tomorrow we will go on with the second layer of paint and then put the chairs together.

Running against time

After I took up this project of exhibiting at the Salone Del Mobile 2009, I have stopped looking at my watch. Infact, I have even stopped wearing a watch. Starting from the first day, when we found out that we have just 15 days to do our exhibition, I knew it would be eat drink and sleep Salone. And that is what exactly it has been, without exaggerating..

Well, today for the first time we all met, the design team. But the only problem was that we knew each other too well, to be able to feel free to give our inputs and suggestions into everyone's work. How can we not, after all we are 5 super designers! But then we did manage to divide our work, and without wasting anymore time (as we were running against it) we got on to work.

Our graphic team finally sent us the graphics,which the design team accepted along with a lot of logical reasoning for why everything is where it is. (as i said earlier, we are super designers!)

Now that I have the graphics, I can start seriously on making the concept video, which i think is highly boring. I want to do the chairs!! (But no super designers coming together, so I stick to this)

Im not looking at the time, but somehow I get this feeling that its really late! yawnnn...

Group work

Ah finally, I received a slight feeling of me starting to get the work under control.

Today we met up at Kedar's place around eleven to discuss a few things regarding the graphics and the logo. At five I went back home starting to carve out the wood where the hinges should sit. It took ages but now it is finally finished.

PS Kedar and his sweet girlfriend made us some really nice Indian food - yum

I'm back

Yes finally I got back in Milan from the short holiday and I'm totally back for work. I met Radhika at her place and she showed me the logo that Kadar and his girlfriend are helping us with. She also showed me what she had got time to finish for the both chairs.

Lucky me, my boyfriend helped me to carry the bags from the holiday and the bag with the both chairs in.

Hi hi

Why am I in Venice? Yes because we booked the trip a week ago before I knew that we could exhibit our stuff at fuori salone. Even Radhika can't continue our work in lab modellistica, it is closed today because it's holiday.

Modelling

Okej, hehe I'm stressed out now. I just realized how much work we have to do and how little time we have to do it...

Yesterday after meeting Kedar, we went to BRICO for buying all the material that we need to remake the prototypes. Today I had to go away and could only stay in lab modellistica from 09.00-12.00 working with the chair. Which means that I at least got time to cut out the pieces.

Salone del mobile - Here we come!

About one week ago my group member of the thesis Radhika told me that we might get the chance to exhibit our two chairs at fuori salone during Milan Design Week 2009. Today we sat down for a coffee to speak with a man named Kedar. After 20 minutes we got a YES from him to go on and exhibit our furniture pieces.

We got soooooooo excited!

For us this is not just an exhibition. It´s our FIRST one and of course a big chance to get our work out there to be seen by others.
